Gallery Work

Vince Kelly has shown work and installed five different group shows at Loyola Marymount University. One was his senior thesis exhibition (GAMUT), one was a group show put together in the fall of 2022 and co-directed with 2 other students (Gallery 22), and the final three were juried art exhibitions.

installed and co-directed a three-person group show in the fall of 2022. The exhibits were linked through photography. Showcased were some of his early work with Bulletshrimp! His section of the exhibit included around 50 original works of his exploring queer fashion and the ways that queer people naturally dress. He photographed over 30 models in more than 200 outfits for the exhibit. Early versions of posters for future short stories he would write for the publication were also featured.

The Gamut Fine Arts Senior Thesis Show was a 14-person group show from April 20th, 2023 to May 6th, 2023. Vince Kelly exhibited the latest short story written for BULLETSHRIMP! “The Eyes of Arcadia”— an installation of a reclusive spider’s room with portraits hung on his wheat-pasted walls of yellow pages that narrate his story.

This surreal-psychological thriller story functions as a metaphor for the complicated and messed up ways that DL and closeted gay/queer men interact with each other.

I made the logo for the senior exhibition.
